GIVI MOTOWAZI MARSHAL RIDING SAFETY COURSE

5 SEPTEMBER 2020
On 5th September 2020, GIVI in collaboration with Motowazi organized a marshalling riding safety course in Stadium Melawati, Shah Alam. A total of 40 participants and media guests were registered in this course. The course has been led by the none other than, a legend in Malaysian Motorcycle Racing, Wazi Abdul Hamid.
The day began with registering health screening forms and temperature checks to all attendees of the day. Starting off with a short introduction from Wazi and “well-structured” classroom presentation to all participants. A theory on safety riding and marshalling techniques including abidance to traffic laws, application of speed, spacing, signaling, and controlling among participants was shared and explained throughout the classroom session…
A practical session soon followed and lessons in the classrooms were applied on the designated training course setup by Motowazi, demos by the instructor focused on handling a motorcycle including slow speed turns, proper use of brakes and convoy regulations. Each participant took turns to practice all the techniques and they were given the opportunity to lead their own groups for a practical session on the road with guidance under the watchful eyes of the organizers and senior Marshalls on duty.
Overall, this safety riding course is one of our initiative to improve safety awareness among riders no matter in solo-ride or in a group. This event was one of successful collaboration with Motowazi and stay tune for our next collaboration soon in Melaka! The course was ended with a certificate ceremony to all participants of the day and feedback to continue this event has been overwhelming with requests for the next level and also to be done in various states across Malaysia.
